What most people would consider a piece of rubbish, I see a piece of treasure. I collect all kinds of things to create with, stones, glass, driftwood, you name it! But my all time favourite material to creative with is sea glass. Not only do I collect the beautifully shaped, smooth shards, but also the ugly, jagged ones too. I am sure I will think of something to make with them!
This month I had a few requests to make more wire wrapped sea glass pendants! So there are a handful of new beauties in the shop.
I’ve been inspired by gold jewellery and I knew I wanted to create another version of my sea glass necklaces but this time in gold. After sketching out a few ideas, I settled on a ‘gold dipped’ effect that I hope is effective! I really love wearing mine, it’s a nice statement piece with a plain grey tee, or even to dress up an outfit for going out!
When searching through boxes of bits and bobs at one of my local thrift shops, I stumbled across these four beautiful slices of crystal. Each one beautiful in it’s own individual way, their shape and gleam reminded me of the moon. I gold dipped the edges to really show their beauty, these are my Luna necklaces.
This month’s vintage finds are some of my all time favourites. I’m a sucker for winter hues, vintage floral prints and bold colours. Most of the beautiful clothing from my ‘Wilding’ shoot with gorgeous Josie is up in the shop now! I adore the oversized vintage floral shirt, it reminded me of all the gorgeous floral illustrations I see in my favourite magazine, Frankie.
Another wonderful vintage piece is this floral number that featured in my “Girl of the wind” shoot with lovely Helena. This one is definitely an oldie! I took up the hem a little bit so that it was more wearable and suited the country theme we were going for when we explored the Great Ocean Road that day.
My two top picks from this months haul is this forest green vintage Sportgirl jumper, and the reversible floral dress! Please excuse the selfies, I just know these beauties look so much better on someone than I can show when they are on the hanger. The dress is super light and soft, and I have fallen completely in love with both prints. The black feels more dressy, and the lighter print is summery and would look perfect with some strappy sandals at the beach.
Having a little bit of fun planning outfit combo’s with the vintage pieces!
MOODBOARD:
I think from this mood board you might be able to get an idea on what my next collection of pieces will be like! I am most excited about these creations, I have sewed dresses from scratch, and I will have some prints that will be for sale! Prints with a twist of course 😉
(All pictures were found on tumblr and weheartit, if one is yours let me know and i’ll add a link for you!)
