Part two blogpost with pictures from my week spent at art camp for the falls festival.
stephanie and dimitra hard at work making limbs for the puppet from bamboo
after we shaped the bamboo we used hot glue guns to stick bunting over the framework
shaping eyes from foam
lady bug friend who came to say hello
nick and erin were the artist in charge of creating the puppet we were helping to build.
erin’s sketch of our three headed giraffe puppet! she is so very talented.
foam strawberries for the birthday cake
first trial run wearing the puppet
lunchtime break with hula and a little bicycle
beautiful dog spike! he is the sweetest
one afternoon we went for a drive back down to lorne to get supplies and birthday candles for jess’s cake
we needed a packet of biscuits for the road
the beginnings of the falls site, it’s sort of haunting to be there when it’s quiet and empty
serene sunsets
pretty road-side daisies
night-time walk through the thick of the forest
the stars were mesmerising, every inch of the sky painted with light
sunset from our cabin window
early morning with cups of tea in the sunshine
finishing our cardboard costumes
stephanie looks so cute in her alien head-dress
painting the aliens birthday hat!
the alien was finally finished and it was time to paint
yellow spattered boots
decorating jess’s overalls
little uncoordinated me… i some how managed to dislocate my knee while carrying the puppet! so i was couch-ridden for the day and limping for the rest of the trip… camp cripple!
watching everyone leave for another night-time adventure (sadly i couldn’t go along on this one on account of me not being able to walk!)
i sat down on the hill to watch the sunset through the trees, this is a week i will never forget.
