part two of my recent travels into the australian countryside.
we awoke early in the morning to drive to a country market a few towns away. it was buzzing with life and local produce.
the biggest pumpkin i have ever seen!
a house on the beach front that i had an overwhelming want to live in! it was called “the hut”.
driving back to narooma we stopped in bodalla to buy some local cheese. they have the cutest little shops along the highway.
the lavender shop
a sweet little guest book, i like the note “that’s a nice shop.”!
a family fishing off the wooden walk bridge
the view of the ocean from the foot bridge
narooma beach at dusk
all life must come to an end to nurture the earth. this beach would have been a beautiful last thing to see.
clouds reflected in glassy waters
early morning fisherman
beachside breakfast
in the afternoon we walked through the thick of the rainforest from the riverbed in hopes of reaching the house. after forty minutes of trekking through thick ferns without a path to guide us, we miraculously appeared at the house! tired and bitten by nettles but feeling like we’d accomplished so much!
a little secondhand store on the main street, cluttered with bits and bobs.
as the sun was setting we decided to try our hand at fishing down on the board walk. we were only fishing for catch and release, no fishes were harmed!
a big string ray gliding along below us.
early morning on the golf course riding around in a buggy (surprisingly so much fun)
incredible views over the cliff
i came across a graveyard on the edge of the sea.
mystery bay was quiet and magical
another fishing adventure, just fishing for catch and release. fish were leaping out of the water in front of us, it was so very beautiful and serene
much to our surprise simon actually caught a fish!
we quickly unhooked him and let him free back into the river
sun setting on our last day in peaceful narooma
driving home again we stopped so i could photograph some cows. i love cows! the whole way home i kept wanted to stop and hug them all… maybe i was sleep deprived!
it rained for part of our 10 hour journey, i’m always happy when it’s raining
homeward bound.
